Yet another setback. Was taken to hospital yesterday. Fever and very low blood pressure - 96/63, whatever that means. They'll keep me until Wednesday, at least, for observation and tests. So missing my daughters birthday (30 today) and National. Cannot remember ever being so disappointed before. :( ...

Found the reason for rough running engine! Broken top compression ring in cyl.3. Long scratch in cyl.liner. Time and aching back stops me building the other 998 up ATM and it would be stupid to just change the piston and ring(s) and hope for the best. After all, it's a 1500 miles round trip. ...

Good news about the Singer and plans for National. :D I haven't changed mine but the Cali has developed a strange behaviour - best described as a misfire. When going back (from Lumenition) to known good points + condenser + coil didn't help I turned my attention to the carbs. Noticed that the piston...

Re-torqued the cyl.head. Made new gasket for the cam cover. Realized that chromed dome nuts were too shallow so standard plain washers, nuts with drops of Loctite went back. After decades of good work the Lumenition system appeared to work only part-time (3/4). Don't know how to diagnose the Lumenit...
