Re: Singer Chamois coupe, Vickie

And I always thought Vickie was your wife too. :? Well, yes and no, The Car is named Vickie after having VKB on the number plate, VKB also being Vickie Butler Henderson's initials. Plus my Girlfriend is Called Vickie. All very confusing! I will certainly be making a new panel to be slotted in place...

Well afarid there is not much to report here. I havent been up to the car for a good few weeks now and it's sad to say but it will be that way for a while now. The car will be moved to a dry secure barn where it will sit, with no work being carried out on it. Finances have got the better of me. Ther...

Sorry for the lack of pictures recently guys, i will post some when i get chance. Re: Singer Chamois coupe, Vickie

I'm after some advice.
I really don't like the fact that the door bolts have screw heads. I'm looking at maybe using countersunk allen key head bolts instead. Can you guys give any reasons why this shouldn't be done?

I don't know if it would help, I've just had a pair of lower section A pillers become surplus to requirement. They may do for repairing rotten ones. Could get some photos if interested. Appriciate the offer there, but think a simple patch will sort this out. Thanks again though. Cheers Paul, yea fe...

There must be a better bolt to use, thinking maybe an allen key head instead of a flat drive. A stainless steel countersunk Allen screw would seem sensible to me. I've got rot in exactly the same place on the coupe, i ended up welding the stupid screws to the plate and then taking the nut off from inside the wheel arch. There must be a betetr bolt to use, thinking maybe an allen key head instead of a flat drive.
