Re: Spaceframe Imps

You can lease the new Swindon NGTC turbo engine & ECU now introduced in the BTCC for £25k a season - and that's for 30 races and official practice days. They've turned down the power to 300bhp at the moment until 2013 to match the S2000 cars. Maybe worth a call to Swindon and if you're only doing 10...

Re: Ingliston Paddock 1989

Ian Forrest discovered an old sponsor's banner from years ago in a pile of rubbish recently. It was not in good nick ... but I scanned it and spent time making up a new image from it of the famous DRAMBUIE IMP. It was the fastest Imp ever round Ingliston in 49.2 ... which is some achievement when yo...

Re: Ingliston Paddock 1989

I've never seen that Drambuie one before! always this one I think of, is it the same chassis underneath with a different body? http://www.imps4ever.info/racing/races/ian_forest/drambuieimp_1978.jpg That was the original Drambuie car #1 built in 1976 - which still holds the Ingliston class lap recor...

Ingliston Paddock 1989

My JCHMB Racing team in October 1989 at Ingliston with Novafone, Drambuie, ANC Transport & MF Industrial. Ian Forrest's DRAMBUIE Imp in the foreground - and Duncan Fisher's NOVAFONE Mason Stiletto and my NOVAFONE Davrian Mk 8 at the back. The MF Industrial M3 (hidden in picture) was driven in the BT...

Re: Spaceframe Imps

There is no reason why a spaceframe Stiletto Imp could not use a Fiat Abarth 695 180bhp, 1370cc turbo engine at the moment for track use.

I can tell you that Darrian are ready to build a prototype sports car using the Fiat components. It may be named a 'Stiletto'

Existing spaceframe race Stilettos would be easily modified to take the FPT 1.4 Turbo (transverse) engine.

Tim Duffee at Darrian has been a big help and has designed the rear suspension to accept the Fiat engines - 875cc & 1370cc.

Re: Spaceframe Imps

Looks better here than the 'new Imp' thread, which IMHO the front resembles a Merc. Hey Meltdoon a bit son ... the new-style headlamps and grille you think look too 'Mercedes-Benz' were only added for the presentation to Fiat/Chrysler. Like you, I'd prefer the traditional two or four sealed beam un...

Re: Rally Imps

It's Bob Jamieson ... Ian Forrest's mate. You'll likely remember the famous DRAMBUIE Imp - see my avatar. We had Drambuie sponsorship for 16 years .. finally on our Prodrive-run BMW M3s in the BTCC from 1988-2002. The female who had her bright yellow Imp Sport upgraded at Ross of Lochrin to 998cc wa...

Re: Rally Imps

You're right. I lived at Fairmilehead, Edinburgh back in the 80's. It was on a host of road Imps for sprints & hillclimbs in the 60's & 70's ... and many more since. I've had the number since 1968. It's now on my daughter's silver Fiesta so you might see her buzzing around Edinburgh. Here's an old p...
