Re: Wicked Welsh Weekend 2017.

Hi, could I pop up in the Davrian on the Sunday to say hello? Its the 50th anniversary of the Davrian at Castle Combe on Saturday so I can't do both days. Cheers Mark

Re: Davrian MEY 882J

Nugget, could you do me a little favour and slap a measuring stick on the right leg of your 'A' frame? I think on your Mk 5 it's a bit shorter than the Mk 7, but that's just looking at your photos and I'd like to have exact measurements. Davrians all seem to vary, it's hard to find two identical, I...

Re: Davrian MEY 882J

Ive always liked the G15, its an IMP based kit built car that doesnt look so obviously like a kit built car. The G15 is definitely the prettiest and most mass produced looking of the 3, I particularly like the back of it, it's very reminiscent of the S1 elan, the Clan and Davrian are altogether mor...

Re: Davrian MEY 882J

Yes owning the G15 must have been just like marrying a pretty wife ..you are on constant alert! Both the Clan and my wife are on the ugly side of pretty - but thankfully both are gifted in areas where it really matters. Your Dav has the best of both worlds ..! :D Clan004 Heh that made me chuckle, s...

Re: Davrian MEY 882J

One final photo for now, my gone but not forgotten G15 that I painstakingly restored, the Davrian won't look this good, I learnt my lesson with the Ginetta, I was afraid to leave it anywhere, was very precious about it and certainly would not be having the fun in it that I do with my ratty old Davri...

Re: Davrian MEY 882J

So that brings me to yesterday. In the quest for reliable, cheap, lightweight, power I have decided to convert the Davrian to K100 power courtesy of Clark Dawsons kit and knowledge so I whipped out the old Imp engine and box and jacked the BMW engine into place, the result is that it will fit with a...

Re: Davrian MEY 882J

Thankfully the work done on the front suspension height also corrected the negative camber so with new fuel tanks, sorted suspension and disc brakes I did a couple more track days and the Davrian was awesome, a tad underpowered but the handling and braking was fantastic, it is an incredible package ...

Re: Davrian MEY 882J

While it was off the road awaiting delivery of the new fuel tanks I addressed another issue which was the very low front end and excessive negative camber which although good for the track was a bit tricky on the road firstly because of clearance issues and secondly its tendency to tramline, I did t...

Re: Davrian MEY 882J

Moving on from the last post (with photos in the wrong order why does it do that?) I did a couple more track days in May this year when on the last one I had a annoying rattle on the back end, undeterred I finished the day got the car home and jacked it up and found that a brake back plate bolt had ...

Davrian MEY 882J

I've had my Davrian now for about 2 years and honestly can't remember if I've started a readers thread so in case anyone is interested I thought I would post a few photos and briefly tell it's story. The car is a Mk5 with a Mk6 front end that I bought off of a fellow Imper from Frome (Bruce Gardener...

Re: VHW 432H and GFX 888N

Thanks for that Noddy, I just found out where on the DVLA/Gov. site you can check last taxed dates. It was a bit sad really, almost all of my old cars are no longer taxed (assumed dead), including what was a lovely 2000ie Lancia Beta coupe, an Alfa Sud Ti and my first (mint) Golf GTI, I'm pleased to...

VHW 432H and GFX 888N

I just spent an evening at my parents house and was having a look at some old photos and found one of my parents Sunbeam Imp, (it says Sunbeam on the front panel badge), it's a black and white photo and I'm in it (age 2ish) so about 40 years ago, I doubt it's still about but worth mentioning, regist...

Re: Classics @ The Castle

I must admit I have checked the C at the C website a couple of times expecting a statement that it is cancelled, it's been hoofing down all week at my place in Frome (20 miles from Sherbourne) and my garden/building site is a mud bath, unless Sherbourne has it's own micro climate I would imagine tha...

Re: Castle Combe, Classic and sports car action day 30/06

There is nothing wrong with the goc they are a good bunch of knowledgeable guys, Simon has summed it up nicely. The imp club is more active in the south west due to the number of members and i have already met a few of them and known one of them for years (Bruce Gardener). given that cash is a finit...

Re: Castle Combe, Classic and sports car action day 30/06

Was a good day and nice to meet a speak to some impers, highlight of the day for me was the parade lap when the elise that was in front of me lost it and did a full 360 at quarry, heh that'll learn him for leaving a gap to the safety car and ignoring the racing line on a wet track. Regarding my real...

Re: Ginetta G15 project

Looking mighty good, loving the stainless chassis, as you know having taken the car apart the tunnel area is very tight on space and I actually found routing everything along the center of mine the most fiddley part of the rebuild, however as you probably know the inner and outer rails are the mount...

Re: Ginetta G15 project
