Re: Meltdown Motorsport - In the bleak midwinter

Bought and built a slot race Imp as a prezzie for a slot car mad friend in Germany. Looks very good but loads of fiddling with generic chassis. Full kit from Pendle Slot. More reliable than the real thing but needs a magnet for handling... Nick Lunn drifts through Ostkurve.jpg It did beat his Simca ...

Tickets are available at the main gate as are programmes. Go straight on over the bridge then straight on over a mini roundabout, over another bridge, straight on again at another roundabout. The paddock will be in front of you, the Imps are usually to the right. Loads of room. There's another meeti...

Well, if you will go fitting extras like roof racks then what do you expect!

Could it just be simple aerodynamics? We weren't going fast enough for the wind resistance of chocolate bars to have an effect! The Singer is a delight to drive, it's as if one's reading a period road test and confirming that the steering is indeed precise and responsive, the gearchanges are truly ...

Well done Simon and jolly bad luck Pete. An easy trick to retain belts that slip off (fan belts included if the budget doesn't stretch to deep pulleys) is a thin wire attached between the crossmember and the engine. Let me put things into perspective regarding my own experience. Beyond that I have had brief flirtations with an XJS, a...

Nick From your description you seem to have the pace but your self imposed rev-limit will have a big impact depending on what the other guys regard as max revs. Even if its only 9000rpm that 1k acounts for 12mph (depending on gearing) and that significant - if it was 9500 its 18mph.
