I would have a good look for damaged or swollen under seal and remove any that you find, then reprotect and treat the whole underside to some fresh under body wax, ie waxoyl or equivalent. I am sure others will disagree, but that’s what I plan to do on my project.

Another great national, well done to everyone involved, including the friendly staff at the Preston Grasshoppers.
Back home in 5 1/2 hours, not helped by the grid lock in Preston this morning, because of the M6 closure.

Finished tidying up the breather pipe and fuel line between pump and carb, replaced rear shocks, as one was leaking. I think that is all jobs done now. Next stop Devon (full English).

If you ignore what might be going on under the rear parcel shelf mat for 20 years, you might be in for a disappointment! That is what I seem to have done. The result was a very crusty parcel shelf, which after some robust wire brushing, looked a bit like a pepper pot. The worst area had resulted in ...

Modified a spare heater fan with the 4” Attwood bildge fan. Fitted to the car today. I probably should have done this when it was first suggested, by Dave Lane I think. It looks as if it will be a very worthwhile mod.

Very good Dave. I must confess that my Imp is a bit of a garage queen. This year I only used it for three club events, one local show and a couple of area centre meetings. That has added up to about 2000 miles. It hasn’t moved since returning from wicked welsh. This has been a pattern for several ye...

I have thought for a while the my Imp sat a little low at the o/s rear corner. At national I splashed out on some secondhand rear springs, that looked in good condition and some new rubbers, so far so good! Measured the height at the rear wheel arches and there was a 4mm difference, o/s low. Removed...

This week I have taken the rear hatch lower frame off, to address the rust I could see in the rear view mirror! The n/s corner is in quite a bad way and has started to split apart. Hopefully I can arrest the corrosion and seal it to the glass well enough to prevent further water ingress. Simon Imp004
