Re: Good wood big weekender club stand

This sounds good, Dom! 8) Have you sent the details to Grahame Pearson for Impressions? :) I'd like to get along to some of the Retro Rides events this year. Obviously, I shall not be in my own Imp, though, so just visiting rather than showing. IM 8) The Gathering is on Sunday 19th August. W...

Re: ... LTU 378C ...

I have a strange issue with my carbs.... (What? Strombergs? Never!) I had a problem with the car not revving properly - was okay in neutral BUT when you tried to drive it it just coughed and spluttered. Having serviced it with new ignition parts and gaining no improvement I decided to remove the car...

Re: ... LTU 378C ...

Has been a quiet year with the Imp. I painted my wheels and bought some new back tyres - 235/45/13. Finally moved the fuel pump up front where it should be and fitted a pressure reg. The car ran very well until last week where it now refuses to rev over 5k rpm, I have fitted a new coil points conden...

Re: Sunbeam Stiletto with a Kawasaki Engine.

Could the cooling issue be down to the relatively small opening in the front panel ?

When I first fitted the Fiat rad I had the same opening size as you but cooling was marginal. I drilled a series of 32mm holes above and it was fine from then on.

Re: Sunbeam Stiletto with a Kawasaki Engine.

I thought that vehicles first used before 1/08/1975 still need to have a visual test on the emissions front? They can still fail for excessive idle speed and excessive smoke etc. Would probably be helpful if the engine is running!
Good luck with the MOT :D
