Re: Imp Rally - Possible sale
Hi Rod, Believe me, I wish I didn't have to, I have spent so much time and effort on making a good car better over the last season and was quite excited as to how good she felt the last time I was out. If there was anyway I could keep and run her I would! TBH I have someone interested who wants to d...

Imp Rally - Possible sale
Due to many factors beyond my control I may regrettably have to put my rally Imp up for sale. Alot of time and money has been spent on this car and it runs and handles really well and is still in A1 condition. It has tarmac and gravel set ups and a few spares. At present I am guaging interest. I hav...

Cheers Aled!
He wasn't at all happy, in fact he was all over me after we passed him until we got to the tight bits!! I had to back off a few times when he should have let me pass!

Woodbridge stages 2010
For a bit of fun, tackled the Woodbridge stages yesterday, conditions were damp/drying and then pouring down, this is stage 5 and it gets interesting half way through with a Mk1 2ltr Escort running slicks!

Brands yesterday
I happened to be at Brands yesterday as my son was practicing on the kart track ready for a race today. Anyway, they gave me free passes and that meant after the session i could walk over to the grandstand and watch the racing and bingo, the Imps were just coming out, i stood near paddock and it was...

Plans for the rest of the season are very iffy due to funds, I just seem to be throwing money at it every event and its taking its toll! Here's a couple of photos just before going to scrutineering, put the lamps on for Castletown......didn't make it that far though!! http://i524.photobucket.com/alb...

Re: Isle of Man Rally
The stages did not suit the Imps, they were too bumpy or open and flowing, still fun all the same.
2nd Stage of first closed road event. Car was overheating badly so had to back off when temp was up and missed all gears out of a hairpin right!

Re: Air box
I am using short 14mm rampipes which gives me about 35mm clearance above and running a cold air system with a BMC air filter box. Set the car up yesterday and took her out, revs really cleanly right through the rev range but the best check will be next event. This box took alot of time and effort an...

Air box
Just designed a new airbox to run with twin 40's. Will run with other twin carbs, just means setting the base plate out differently. Made the base model out of timber/filler then used an ABS plastic former to take a 'cast' of the shape in two pieces to bolt together to make the mold. Then had the fi...

Re: Rally Imps
We all had cooling problems, mine started about 1 mile into stage 1 hence the reason we were so far off the pace, car was misfiring, throttle jammed on at 4000rpm and temp was up to and sometimes crept over 100 hence we just couldn't continue after stage 2. I had my foot the floor in second and coul...

Re: Manifolds
I can see how you thought that, but no, they are the same.
I am concerned about where the two initial paipes meet the secondary and again the secondary to the final, they just seem a little short and not flowing and I wonder what effect this would have?
Thanks

I have been offered one of these manifolds at a reasonable price for my rally Imp but wanted to see some of your worthy opinions before I decide to part with my cash, can anyone see anything that will hold the engine back or not let it breath properly, or anything else come to that? http://i524.phot...

Re: South Down Stages, Goodwood 6.2.10
It was ran by Southsea and Bognor motor clubs! Fair amount of spectators turned out too!! South Down Stages, Goodwood 6.2.10
Competed in the South down stages at Goodwood yesterday in the Historic class. Cars in our class were a Porsche 911, 2 x Escort Mk1 (2ltr) and a Riley Elf with Cooper S 1275 running gear. We got off to a flier and took 11 seconds out of the next quickest in our class on Stage 1 and it snowballed fro...

Re: Lynn Charity Stages
Because of the lack of Horses, my thoughts are to carry as much speed as you can through the bends to help with next straight, it doesn't always work as she can come off cam and bog down, should really go for first in that situation, something i need to get the hang off without abusing it!!! Just ri...
