Thanks Peter useful insight. I'll certainly check that again but i had cleaned the spider end thoroughly with brake cleaner and a tooth brush, let it dry in the sun. There is a slight cavity where the end of the axle doesn't quite sit flush with the outside face of the spider and this I filled with automotive silicone then let...

Just crossed paid the toll for the last time!
They made it memorable as took over an hour because rather than do the work over night they started just before the rush hour and shut some of the tolls and switched of the TAG only lanes!

With a couple of free hours this morning got second drive shaft back in Chamois with its new UJ Drive shaft nuts tightened up with big breaker bar and lock washers in place Drove around the block and all clonking and grinding noises gone.
