Re: Historic Rally Imp for Dunlop/Gambia

Easy enough to make the calender work just plan ahead and let nothing get in the way, the good thing about the ALMC you can arrive Friday night and reece and scrutiny on saturday, rally sunday home ferry sunday evening or monday morning and on the ALMC the Irish Imp rally boys would help out no prob...

The ALMC is the 19th of July, not June, plenty of time to have it finished and tested. Plus the other Imp boys will help out if you come over.

Re: Historic Rally Imp for Dunlop/Gambia

Bring it over to the ALMC stages near Dublin in July, I think its the 19th of july three possibly four Irish Imps will be out. Irish Stage rallying at its best ,less then an hour from the ferry, proper stages proper rally and if you are quick enough you could catch and pass a WRC or two. Clip from l...

Re: Clan Crusader LWP500K

Hi, I guess each to their own and that is why no two competition cars are ever the same. I do think that with the rally arches the wheels do look a little lost. I find that for me at least the Clan carries enough speed into a corner! I am not yet and probbably wont ever be good enough to get the ma...

Re: Clan Crusader LWP500K

Each to their own Pete, thats the thing about set up, its individual, anyone that says different is either on a playstation or lying. On Irish Tarmac roads I find 8 inch works better, unless its wet and muddy, if it is I go back down to 6" and that is both in testing and the few times the cars have b...

Re: Clan Crusader LWP500K

Cheers Mark for the info, I have found 8 inch rear wheels much better the the 6'' with standard road tyres, over tyred for a track but very good on rough tarmac that we have over here. But we are bound to 6'' wheels and while they do a job, they just do not look as good under the big arches. I am in...

Re: Clan Crusader LWP500K

Thanks for the info on the Disks, another stupid question, if you do not run to historic spec or in an historic class why do'nt you use bigger rear wheels/tyres. If memory serves me right the last non historic clan I saw competing over here at 10" wide rear wheels and was like a go kart on steroids ...

Re: Historic Stage Rallies

Hi Tony
Can you clear up the saga about the Air Scoops on the body of the car pre 68. I know they were on some rear windows, but its the body ones I am interested in.
I am going ahead with putting them on my car anyway, but I would prefer if I knew they were fully legal.

Regards

Loved the way a couple of Escorts & a Mini dived for the ditch.
